Technology created to save time often deceives us into spending time on activities that are completely unproductive.

As the cost for participating in sport continues to rise and wages have been falling over the last decade or so now, more kids are choosing indoor activities for recreation than ever before.
This could be a bigger problem for recruiters looking for future athletic talent from adolescents that may not be physically prepared for competitive sport. One possible solution to this epidemic could be weight training.
Weight training is a relatively small niche of the sports industry, but could be the most beneficial method to help get young adolescents back in shape.
Positive Impact of Weight Training At a Young Age
As our lives are becoming more inactive, keeping body fat levels low will become more of a challenge. Muscle conditioning will also suffer.
This is especially important for young age groups, as rapid growth change starts to occur and sex hormone production reaches its height.
Weight training at this age can increase bone density, strengthen ligament tissue to prevent significant injuries, and activates motor neurons for better muscle coordination.
Exercising with weights also has a lasting impact on the psyche of young adolescents who have been lifting for some time.
Making incremental gains of strength from weight training helped them understand goal setting and recognize functional human movement patterns clearly.
Not having any of these skills in any sport will have even the most talented athletes unprepared for their most competitive events. Since many athletes quit sports at an early age from poor performance; weight training should be an integral regiment for any serious athlete.
