Breaking Through The Illusion

Sometimes it becomes easier to avoid life’s problems by keeping ourselves distracted. If we have something preoccupying our attention issues of concern can be addressed when it’s more convenient.

Unfortunately, distraction usually comes in the form of self-sabotage and has disastrous effects the longer we continue them. In 2024 it wasn’t uncommon to see people excessively drinking alcohol, smoking/vaping, junk/processed food eating, online gambling, television watching, shopping, and/or working extra hours at the job.

All of these bad habits all have negative consequences that we’re well aware of, yet many of us are still caught up with these self-sabotage rituals on a regular basis.

As the new year is approaching, it’s time to assess what changes need to be made to avoid disaster before it strikes. One of the best ways to have a successful start to the new year is by prioritizing health and fitness goals.

How to Stay in Alive and Thrive in ‘25

One of the key lessons to learn in life is to not allow yourself to live out lies as truth. Pretending or lying to yourself about your reality will always come back to haunt you, whether you believe it or not.

Having a lack of information regarding a particular subject will make you ignorant, which isn’t any fault of your own. However, if you become educated on that subject matter and choose to make decisions leading to negative consequences, you only have yourself to blame for your stupidity.

In this article I’ve listed a few mantras that should remind you of what to be leery of in 2025.

Be Aware

The packaged foods on the grocery shelves are not your friend and could be less concerned about your health. Sorry to break the news to you.

Nutrition labels are quite deceptive and have many consumers taking a double take at what they’re actually purchasing in the stores (see The Deception Behind Nutrition Labels). The ingredients are supposedly listed for the consumer to understand, yet manufacturers are allowed to include ingredients that aren’t listed.

For example, ‘natural flavors’ can incorporate over 100 different ingredients alone.*

As an educated consumer, you need to understand the origins of your food and what toxins are being added to them. Food companies will have labels with ingredients listed, but it’s up to you to do research to understand what these chemicals are and what effects they have on the body.

Question Everything

A lot of regret comes from taking advice from the wrong person or a trusted source of information. When you take everything in your five senses for face value, you’ll likely to be deceived because of your trusting nature.

Luckily, we live in the Information Age where access to alternative sources is available at our fingertips. Long ago the only sources of information was mainstream news outlets and newspapers/magazines, which would masquerade propaganda as authentic information.

It’s only after many decades that we discovered this information was all bullshit and part of industry agenda.

Questioning everything also includes advice from professionals that are giving you an expert opinion. While they may have credentials to advise you on something, you should always seek a second opinion from another professional whenever possible.

This is a big issue for the medical profession, as many people from the past few years have regrets in the decisions they made consulting with their doctors for their health. Trusting the wrong doctor in the times that we’re living in can be one of the biggest mistakes you can make in 2025.

Become More Educated, Less Entertained

Everyone on this planet has the same amount of time allotted to them and we all make decisions daily on how we choose to spend it. Depending on your perspective of the world, this time can be used to your advantage or for your own detriment.

A majority of people choose the path of least resistance and divulge into entertainment in their waking hours, sparing very little time to learn or educate themselves. It seems like everyone has a Netflix account or a PlayStation console that’s occupying their lives in their living rooms.

Instead of following the masses into entertainment, research documentaries regarding health, technology, or any topics that are relevant to your field of work. Podcasts are also your friend, as you may have spare time during your morning/evening commute to absorb some high quality content on topics that are unfamiliar to you.

You should also educate yourself on skillsets that could be beneficial to you and your family. In the nearby future it could be to your advantage to know how to grow produce or generate power on your own during a grid outage.

If you haven’t started a business yet, you should find resources online that can assist you with getting started with your current resources.

Spend Your Money Wisely

It’s tempting to splurge disposable income and every now and then when something flashy catches your eye. This has become even harder to resist since we spend so much hours online and almost everyone has an Amazon account these days.

The problem with splurging is not knowing when that source of income you rely on will be there or if you have to make drastic changes to your family’s budget in the near future.

With the major shifts in the global economy with regards to A.I. technology and global reduction in consumer spending, it’s risky to spend money on products unnecessarily.

Rather than splurging on items, learn about what disempowers you on a regular basis and what you use in moderation. A lot of people are spending money on takeout food, alcohol, cigarettes, coffee, and recreational drugs, all of which destroy your health regardless of how ‘moderately’ you do them.*

Look at your budget as an investment and choose to spend each dollar with a purpose. Excess income should be used to invest in tools, equipment, education, protection, and assets for relocation to new area. Be wise with your funds.

The Wrap Up

It can be easy to live in a fantasy regarding the world we’re living in, but this can be devastating if you’re not careful. There are things in our environment that you should be precautious of and consul of professionals that are misinformed about what’s really going on. Trust your own instincts and always do your own homework/research when it comes to guiding your reality in the year 2025. Good luck.
