Getting Ready for Your Best Life

Do you have some big dreams for yourself, but you don’t have the confidence to follow them? Maybe you’re anxious about stepping out into the world and too timid to go after your goals. If so, these tips from David Dummett will help you overcome your uneasiness and fears and get you ready for living your best life:

Take Care of Your Skin

Are you feeling insecure because of your appearance? Do you have wrinkles, scars, or blemishes that make you feel self-conscious? You don’t have to spend a fortune on cosmetic surgery to try and regain your confidence.

You may not be able to erase your crow’s feet or get rid of your acne overnight, but taking the time to nurture and pamper your skin every day will help you feel more self-assured. So instead of focusing on what you don’t like, learn to embrace what makes you different, and be diligent about your skincare routine: look for products that actually work for your specific problem areas, and don’t fall for the hype delivered by TV commercials.

Maximize Your Exercise Routine

Sometimes, when it comes to exercise, the hardest part is just getting started. Other times, we get so accustomed to our workouts that they aren’t a challenge anymore, and we need to push ourselves harder.

Either way, the benefits of a challenging bodybuilding/training routine are obvious. So don’t sell yourself short. Think of exercise as a gift you’re giving your future self. And if you need an experienced personal trainer to motivate you, David Dummett can help!

Set the Bar High

If you feel stuck in your routine or unhappy about where you are in life, try looking for new experiences to enrich your existence and help you grow. You may feel uncomfortable at first, but if you push yourself and actually take action, you’ll soon be able to set bigger and better goals for yourself.

For example, you may be unsatisfied with your job, but also anxious about stepping out of your comfort zone and looking for a better position. A good place to start is by using this free resume builder to highlight your skills with an eye-catching template, then put your name out there. Be persistent. Sometimes, it takes a little while to find your dream job.

And if you dream of starting your own business, fear of failure may be holding you back. But if you’re afraid of trying something new, you’ll never get unstuck, so make sure you move past your anxiety and start experiencing new things so that you can finally move closer to your goals.

Update Your Wardrobe

Sometimes, all it takes to build your self-confidence is to wear an outfit that makes you look and feel fantastic. So don’t wait until you’ve lost a few pounds and reached your goal weight to treat yourself to some new clothes.

Go shopping for a few pieces that fit you just right, and don’t worry about the size written on the label. Find something that works with your body shape and that is comfortable to wear (see How to Fill Out Shirts With A Muscular Frame).

Pick colors that compliment your skin tone, or just colors you love that will brighten your day. And if you’re keeping some too-small jeans in your closet hoping that they might fit again someday, do yourself a favor and donate them.

Start a New Hobby

Enjoying a hobby has been shown to help reduce stress and anxiety. Even if work keeps you busy, make sure to reserve some time in your schedule for an enjoyable activity.

If you’re a social butterfly, sign up for a group class and have fun while learning something new: maybe dancing, yoga, painting, birdwatching, or photography. You’ll be honing your skills and making friends in the process.

If you’re more of an introvert, taking time for yourself to do what you love – playing an instrument, knitting, crocheting, running, or hiking – will help you keep your stress level in check, and as you get better and better at what you do, you’ll be gaining in self-confidence as well.

The Wrap Up

Getting unstuck starts with a few small changes. If you’re in need of a big boost of confidence and renewed self-esteem, focus on the things you enjoy about yourself. Stop letting self-doubt bring you down, and you’ll soon be ready for your best life!
