Minor Upgrade for Smartwatch Technology

The release of the new Apple Watch Series 6 contains new features that may convince owners of previous versions to upgrade.

For owners of the Series 5, these modifications of the smartwatch they’ve grown accustomed to may not seem worth the extra money to switch to the new model.

The Series 6’s newest feature, which is now its main selling point, is the blood oxygen sensor that calculates the color of your blood using LED technology that emits through your wrists*.

The main wow factor for these new watches are the exterior designs with the latest color combinations. For one, the adjustable watch bands with clasps have been replaced by a solo loop band that comes in two types of materials.*

The watch colors now come in a sharp blue and (PRODUCT) red aluminum, in addition to watch materials in stainless steel and titanium.

The newest application to be added to the Series 6 is Fitness+, which is a subscription service that streams workout classes from instructors across the world in all niches of fitness.

Since the Series 5 will no longer available, this article will review the major difference between the two models without preference for either version of the smartwatch.

Apple Watch Series 5 vs. Series 6

The major changes for the new Series 6 come from the hardware specs underneath the surface. The new smartwatch responds faster, weighs less, has much better Bluetooth connectivity, and a brighter Always On display.

The faster screen response comes from the new S6 64-bit dual core chip, that provides 20% faster speeds than the S5 predecessor.

The Series 6 U1 chip serves the Watch with better Bluetooth connectivity with other smart devices, which allows functions to open car or home doors (at a later time , when announced).

The always-on display is now 2.5x brighter than the previous Series 5, allowing better visibility for wears outdoors. Always-on display also functions for the altimeter, which aids exercises like hiking or climbing.

With all of the new hardware upgrades the battery life is still roughly the same, with 18-hours of battery life for both Series, although the Series 6 is supposed to have faster charging times.

(Not included in the Series 6 packaging is the wall port for the USB connect cable).
